ANDY STOTT made his debut for the Modern Love label in 2005 and in the years since he has released over a dozen EP’s and four albums under his own name, as well as several productions under the Andrea moniker as part of the Millie & Andrea project with Miles Whittaker. Refusing to settle, his output has veered from pop variants to “knackered” House, alongside unique takes on Grime, hyperactive footwork and wavey mutations – always referencing his unique stylistic signatures: Deep, Complex and Oddly Beautiful.Blessed with an ear for space and a knack for constructing tracks that are simultaneously smooth and rumbling, Stott neatly strides the axis between intelligent techno, dub techno and dubstep.

The always stimulating Manchester-based electronic-music duo DEMDIKE STARE (Sean Canty and Miles Whittaker) teams up with the filmmaker and animator MICHAEL ENGLAND, to offer a high-voltage audiovisual project at Funkhaus! No more or less aural than visual, about dread and dreams, what happens in the world when the conscious mind isn’t noticing. This association functions live as a total experience, characterized by a mixture of bass noise, techno and ambient  is interpreted by England mixing imagery associated with the group (esoteric prints and B series films) with others much more poetic and free, such as those of tourists taking photos in front of Niagara Falls.

DEMDIKE STARE (Miles Whittaker and Sean Canty) have been shaping a truly impressive body of work for the last ten years, from their first albums full of noxious soundscapes and generic experimentation to their new album, the excellent "Wonderland", which both speeds things up and goes back to the basics of rave-jungle and bass music. In 2009, soon after startin Demdike Stare, the duo founded the DDS label, the youngest brother of Modern Love, a platform to which they are still closely linked and on which they have published most of their albums.

MICHAEL ENGLAND is known in the electronic universe for his cover designs for labels such as Warp (Leila) and Skam (Bola, Gescom), although his work is of course much more extensive, with work in the fields of animation, cinema or photography, among other disciplines.
